New land navigation championship format showcases accuracy and inclusivity for all What sport can you do for only the cost of a compass? In trail orienteering, or Trail-O, athletes use true North in navigating a contour map featuring a certain number of control stations along a predetermined course. Their timed task is to look at how a station is set up and mark down which of several flags is in the correct spot using a set of clues.

Offering Nordic and ParaNordic Activities at Windham Country ClubWINDHAM MOUNTAIN RESORT, N.Y. (December 12, 2018) Windham Mountain Resort and the Adaptive Sports Foundation have joined forces with the Capital Region Nordic Alliance, Inc. to offer Nordic and ParaNordic activities at Windham Country Club this winter, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, orienteering, and biathlon (light-based and paintball).
CRNA ED Russ Myer served as coach for Orienteering USA’s Trail Orienteering team at the World Trail Orienteering Championships in August in Daugavpils, Latvia. Veteran Army Sgts Christ Rasmussen and Julius Schram competed with Daniel Heimgartner from The Plains VA to put forth a credible USA Paralympic contingent.
OUSA Open team member Mika Latva Kokko was 1.5 sec out of the Temp O finals…would have been a USA first-we still celebrated…BRAVO Mika CRNA is working on establishing a Trail O training center in Windham NY so we will beat that 1.5 sec…stay tuned for more details on Trail O CRNA will provide its nordic sports with Albany PAL for the 5th straight year at Oneal and Myers middle schools. New PAL program mgr Kyle O’Brey will coordinate with CRNA extended day programming at both middle schools including various forms of biathlon, snowshoeing and orienteering. CRNA hosted 70+ day clients and staff at ARC Lexington in Gloversville, NY in a wonderful 2 course (walking and W/C) Orienteering day at the Paul Nigra Center for the Creative Arts. A great day supported all enjoying finding controls with the help from Daniel Heimgartner’s wonderful map
